Hailing from Philadelphia, PA, Chris Perry is all about writing songs that are melodic yet energetic and personal. Chris has been passionate about music ever since he can remember. In fact, he’s been writing songs and lyrics for nearly 20 years now! However, he started his musical journey when he was very young. Growing up, Chris faced difficulties due to undiagnosed autism, especially in an era when mental health in general was often overlooked and certainly misunderstood. For this reason, he endured bullying, depression, and anxiety. Listening to and creating music was something incredibly therapeutic for Chris, reminding him he wasn't alone and inspiring him to help others in the same way it helped him.

Despite the years that have passed, he has remained true to his roots, preserving the same passion and heart that ignited his journey from day one. Chris has performed as a solo singer/songwriter and joined many bands, ensembles, and theater productions, showcasing his versatility. In 2012, he earned a music degree from the University of Tampa, combining his formal education with his deep passion for music.

Chris has claimed that writing music was always natural for him, but he always found lyrics a bit of a daunting task. However, his ability to write catchy, yet relatable lyrics has definitely matured as he continued to make music. His songs have become more profound and resonant, reflecting the experience that comes with time, dedication and practice. His music still carries the same rebellious spirit and fervor that defined his early work, but with the added awareness of doing it for quite some time now!

Chris's ability to captivate an audience with his music has grown exponentially, and he has mastered the nuances of live performance. His style is informed by a wide range of influences. From punk and alternative music to the intimacy of contemporary singer-songwriters, anything goes. On songs such as "Alive,” Chris showcases his varied approach. The intro has a melodic pattern, with a cleaner guitar arpeggio, only to dive into an edgy arrangement that’s reminiscent of 90s punk and alternative rock (Green Day and Weezer fans, bust out your headphones for this one!)

His willingness to take risks and explore the uncharted territory results in fresh music that resonates with his audience.

His Youtube and TikTok accounts are treasure trove of amazing covers, including his acoustic renditions of tracks like “Swing Life Away” by Rise Against for a series of videos titled “The Bedroom Chronicles.” In the cozy setting of his home, Chris is sharing his passion for music, as well as some amazing takes on hits from the golden age of pop-punk and alternative rock. His ability to rearrange these anthems in a minimalistic and stripped-down fashion is nothing short of inspiring, often reminiscent of the iconic "Punk Goes Acoustic" series of CDs.
