Just a Dream

Updated: Aug 25, 2019

As many of you know, I was in a really bad car accident almost 9 years ago. To say it was one of the most traumatic things I've ever experienced, seeing your friend die while you and four of your other friends are almost killed, would be an understatement. I discovered this song shortly after the accident and it helped me get through it. This song is about a breakup, not death, but the feelings of losing a loved one are similar. Plus, the timbre of the song symbolized both depression and optimism to me. I could relate to the lyrics too: I was living in a nightmare. A friend of mine had just died. I just wanted someone to wake me up, tell me it was all a dream, and see Tessa's smiling face alive and well again. For anyone who's ever lost someone they love, this is for you.
